October 2012 - The Armor All Gold Coast 600 was set to be a big event for the Tekno Autosports team. Porsche Factory driver, Marc Lieb returned to the famous street circuit alongside Jonathan Webb in the #19 Holden. Starting from 3rd on the grid for Saturdays race, Webb and Lieb held tight avoiding the two chaotic race starts, finishing in 2nd position. The stellar result was Webb's second career podium and first since his win at Sydney Olympic Park in 2010. Sunday started great with another 3rd position in qualifying for Webb. However a penalty for 'over-use' of curb on turn 9 resulted in a pit drive through, taking Webb back to 18th position. A fresh set of tyres and steely determination pushed the boys back up to 11th by the race end.
Coming off the back of a strong top 10 finish at last month's Sandown 500, Tekno Autosports lifted even further on the biggest day in Australian motorsport - race day of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. Starting from 11th, a well-executed strategy and pit work, strong race pace and an incident-free run left Webb in an excellent position for the all-important run to the finish. Webb's 6th place finish now takes the team to 12 finishes inside the top 10 this year.
